𝐃𝐮𝐟𝐟𝐲’𝐬 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐔𝐩𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞 The City of Jeffersonville is preparing for dredging operations at Duffy’s Landing. Dredging is the process of removing built-up sediment from the river bottom to help maintain safe and reliable water depth for boaters using the ramp and surrounding areas.Under Indiana law, dredging is not permitted from April 1 through June 30. The City will begin the dredging process as soon as possible. Bids for the project are due by June 30, with the Board of Public Works expected to award the contract at its July 1 meeting. Please note that access to dock slips at Duffy’s Landing is currently limited due to recent flooding. River conditions can also result in reduced depth near the ramp, and boaters are encouraged to use caution when loading and unloading.Dredging schedules and regulations vary by state, including differences between Indiana and Kentucky law.We appreciate your understanding as we complete seasonal maintenance to support continued access at Duffy’s Landing. #onlyINjeff ... LThe City of Jeffersonville continues to advocate for our community regarding proposed lane changes on the Clark Memorial Bridge. In March, Mayor Mike Moore sent a letter to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) expressing concerns about reducing southbound traffic to a single lane and offering alternative recommendations, including exploring toll reductions on other bridges and restricting large trucks from using the Clark Memorial Bridge. As of today, the City has not received a response from KYTC. Mayor Moore has sent a follow-up letter reiterating that Jeffersonville's position has not changed and that the City strongly objects to reducing southbound traffic to one lane. The City has requested an update from KYTC regarding its position on Jeffersonville's recommendations. We know many residents rely on the Clark Memorial Bridge every day, and we will continue advocating for solutions that prioritize safety and access for those traveling between Southern Indiana and Louisville.Mayor Moore also invites Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear, Indiana Governor Mike Braun, and Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg to Jeffersonville City Hall for a collaborative discussion on this critical regional transportation issue. Working together, we believe we can find solutions that better serve drivers on both sides of the Ohio River. We will share updates as soon as additional information becomes available. ...
